General information, not advice
Everything on Moneystretching is published for general information and education. It is not financial, investment, insurance, tax, legal or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation. The information on this site is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney.
Our articles are written for a general audience and are not tailored to anyone’s individual circumstances. Reading the site, or writing to us, does not create an adviser-client, attorney-client, agent-client, doctor-patient or any other professional relationship.
Moneystretching is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, insurance agency or licensed insurance producer, tax preparer, law firm or health care provider. We do not sell insurance, Medicare plans, loans or other financial products, and we do not recommend specific plans, policies, companies or products.
Not affiliated with the government
Moneystretching is an independent, privately owned publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the Social Security Administration, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Housing Administration, or any other federal, state or local government agency. It is not the federal Medicare program.
We do not accept applications, claims, appeals or payments, and we cannot look up or change anyone’s benefits, coverage or tax account. For official information and to act on your own records, go directly to the agency, for example ssa.gov, medicare.gov or irs.gov.
Companies and products we mention
Names of companies, drugs, plans and products belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Mentioning a company or product does not mean it is affiliated with us, endorses us or is endorsed by us.
Figures change
Medicare premiums, Social Security adjustments, tax thresholds, insurance rules and state programs change, usually on a schedule and sometimes without warning. Each article shows the date it was last updated, and articles published since 2026 list the sources they rely on. We work to keep articles accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee that every figure is complete, accurate or up to date when you read it. Before you act on a number, confirm it with the agency or company involved. Where an official figure has not been published yet, we label our estimate as a projection.
No guarantee of results
Descriptions of appeals, exemptions, assistance programs, negotiations and similar steps explain how a process generally works. They are not a promise about your result. Eligibility rules, deadlines and decisions vary by state, plan, insurer, lender and individual circumstances. Decisions you make based on information from this site are your own.
Health content
Articles that mention medical care, procedures, prescription drugs or devices deal with costs and coverage only. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation. Do not start, stop or change any treatment or medication because of something you read here. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Links, ads and sponsored listings
Our articles link to government agencies, regulators, research organizations and occasionally to companies. We do not control those websites, and a link is not an endorsement. The site also shows ads and sponsored search listings supplied by third parties, as explained in our Advertising Disclosure. We do not review or vouch for advertisers or what they offer. If you respond to an ad, your dealings are with the advertiser.
Limits on our responsibility
Your use of this site is governed by our Terms of Use, including the sections on disclaimers of warranties and limitation of liability.
