Our Disclaimer and Advertising Disclosure are part of these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information; it is a notice to you and is not part of these Terms.
1. Information only
The site publishes general information about personal finance, insurance, government benefits, taxes and health care costs. It is not financial, investment, insurance, tax, legal or medical advice, and it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. Please read our Disclaimer before relying on anything you read here.
2. Who the site is for
The site is intended for adults 18 and older in the United States.
3. Using our content
The articles, graphics, illustrations, page designs and other content on the site belong to us or to the people who license them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws.
You may read the site, print or save articles for your own personal, noncommercial use, and share links to our pages. You may quote short passages if you credit Moneystretching and link to the original article.
Unless we give you written permission, you may not:
- copy, republish, sell, license or distribute our content, in whole or in substantial part
- use bots, scrapers, crawlers or other automated tools to copy or collect content from the site, except for search engines and for services we authorize, such as our advertising partners’ crawlers and link-preview tools, acting in accordance with our robots.txt file
- use our content to train or fine-tune artificial intelligence or machine learning models, or to build datasets for training them
- frame the site, or present our content in a way that suggests it is someone else’s or that we endorse you
- remove or alter copyright notices, bylines or source lists
- click on ads or sponsored listings for any reason other than genuine interest, generate artificial page views or clicks, or encourage or pay others to do so
- interfere with the site’s operation or security, probe it for vulnerabilities, or overload it with requests
- use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights
Using an ad blocker does not violate these Terms.
4. Trademarks
“Moneystretching” and our logo are our trademarks. Other company, product and program names mentioned on the site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
5. Linking to the site
You are welcome to link to any page of the site, as long as the link is not misleading and does not suggest that we are affiliated with you or endorse you or your products. We may ask you to remove a link that does not meet these conditions.
6. Other websites, ads and sponsored listings
The site links to websites we do not control and shows ads and sponsored search listings supplied by third parties. We are not responsible for the content, offers, products, services or privacy practices of other websites or advertisers. If you respond to an ad or visit another website, your dealings are solely between you and that business.
7. Messages you send us
If you send us corrections, suggestions or other feedback, we may use it to improve the site without any obligation to you. Please do not send confidential or sensitive personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal information in your messages.
8. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to editorial@moneystretching.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject line. Please include:
- your name, mailing address, phone number and email address
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- the address (URL) of the page on our site where the material appears
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf
- your physical or electronic signature
We review every notice and remove or correct material where appropriate.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ON IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION ON IT IS CURRENT OR APPLIES TO YOUR SITUATION.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MONEYSTRETCHING AND ITS OWNERS, EDITORS, CONTRACTORS AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF MONEY, PROFITS, DATA, COVERAGE OR BENEFITS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, AD OR LINK ON IT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100).
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you live in New Jersey, sections 9 and 10 do not limit any rights you have under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act or other New Jersey laws that cannot be waived.
11. Disputes
If you have a concern about the site, please write to editorial@moneystretching.com first; most issues can be resolved quickly that way. Nothing in these Terms takes away any right you have under the consumer protection laws of your state of residence that cannot be waived by agreement.
12. Changes to the site and these Terms
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time. We may also update these Terms. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date, and it applies from that date. If a change is material, we will post a notice on the site. If you continue to use the site after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply to your use.
13. General
We may block access to the site for anyone who violates these Terms. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, including the Disclaimer and Advertising Disclosure, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site. We may assign our rights under these Terms, for example if the site is sold.
