About Us
Moneystretching writes about the money decisions that arrive as paperwork: the Annual Notice of Change from a Medicare plan, the escrow analysis that raised a mortgage payment, the insurance letter that says a policy will not be renewed, the hospital bill with line items nobody explained.
Moneystretching.com first published personal-finance articles in 2021. In 2026 the site changed hands and was relaunched with a narrower focus: the costs that people in their fifties, sixties and seventies actually face, explained with the real numbers and the dates they change.
We are not advisers. We do not sell insurance, plans or financial products, and we do not tell anyone which one to buy. What we do is explain how a rule works, what the current figure is, where it came from, and what the next deadline looks like.
How we work
Our articles are built on primary sources such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Social Security Administration, the IRS and state insurance departments, along with research from organizations such as KFF. Key figures are linked to their source in the text, and the full list of sources is at the end of each article, so anyone can check the numbers. A human editor reads and checks every article before it is published. When an official figure changes, we work to update the article and its date promptly. Our full standards, including how we treat older archive articles, are in our Editorial Policy.
How we make money
The site is free to read and is paid for by advertising: display ads and sponsored search listings supplied by Google. We do not use affiliate links, publish sponsored articles or sell leads. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or how we describe anything. Details are in our Advertising Disclosure.
Nothing on this site is financial, legal, tax, insurance or medical advice; see our Disclaimer. Questions and corrections: Contact.
